It’s my favorite time of year, the leaves are changing colour, the stores are full of cheap novelty items and it’s suddenly acceptable to take candy from strangers. It’s Halloween season!
October through to January is always the busiest time for me in terms of paper toy design, I try to go all out for Halloween, get loose ends tied up throughout November and get Christmas toys released through December, and this year is no different.
This years main Halloween project is a series of Inktober toys, every day over on my Instagram I’ve been releasing images of simple toys following a single word theme. Don’t worry if you’ve missed them so far, all 31 toys will be released on the Fold Up Toys website when the project is finished.
I’m also franticly uploading older Halloween themed models to my portfolio on the FUT website, and filming starts tomorrow for the next episode of Let’s Design (my paper toy design show).
It’s a busy time, but I’ll find a moment to show off this months Patreon exclusive model and explain some of the complex paper engineering techniques used to make the final product.
